At Sorell Locksmiths we can offer you a mobile electrical testing and tagging service.

Using the latest Portable Appliance Tester, Sorell Locksmiths will keep you up to date with your electrical test & tag requirements.We provide:

Single (240v) testing
Detailed inspection reports – Upon completion of testing we will provide you with a summary of your tested appliances, as a detailed itemised report via email (pdf format)
Email notification of next due test dates – Once entered into our system we will send you a no obligation notification to inform you that your equipment needs re-testing.
Onsite Test & tag of all electrical items – Our qualified technician will test all your appliances to ensure your work place complies with the required safety regulations.

Test & Tag FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. Who needs to Test & Tag?
  A. All employers & self-employed.
2. Do normal households require Testing & Tagging of their electrical appliances?
  A. Only if the house is used for holiday rental with electrical appliances provided (TV, Fridge, etc)
3. What needs to be Tested & Tagged?
  A. All electrical equipment that plugs into a power outlet.
4. Do we have to bring all our electrical appliances to you, or will you come to us?
  A. All our testing is done onsite, this saves you time & money with minimum disruption to service.
5. Does my equipment need to be powered off to be tested?
  A. Yes, only for the duration of the test – You may wish to consider our after-hours test service if your equipment is mission critical.
6. Can you test our equipment if there is no power source or no stable power source (i.e., building site)?
  A. Yes, we can test using our own power source.
7. How many items on average fail the safety test?
  A. On average 2%-3% of items tested will fail.
8. What happens if my equipment fails the safety test?
  A. For safety reasons it will be marked as faulty and will be required to be removed from service till it is either repaired or replaced. If repaired, the item must be re-tested before being returned to service.
